KEY OUTDOOR, Inc. is a family-owned billboard business operating in Central Illinois, Eastern Missouri and Eastern Iowa. Founded back in 1977 in Kankakee, Illinois, the company now owns and operates approximately 1,500 outdoor advertising displays throughout its expansive coverage area. KEY has always been growth-oriented, and continues to build on... its market coverage and client base. The flagship office in Kankakee soon became one of many offices, as the purchases of other major billboard companies were completed. The first addition to the KEY group was the LaSalle-Peru market, followed by Galesburg, Decatur, and Springfield. Most recently the Quincy, Illinois market was added, which also includes parts of Missouri and Iowa. KEY has found a niche in medium-sized markets with diverse, stable economies. Some of the strong industries which contribute to the economy in these markets include tourism, retail, manufacturing, agriculture, and health care services, just to name a few. These economies generate a solid base of local business which accounts for nearly 90% of the company's sales.
