Kerria Primary School Adapted

In April 1985 3teachers from Berzelia Primary were transferred to Kerria Primary. The school was officially opened on 1 July 1985 with the late Mr M.G. Farmer as the principal with 8 teachers, until 1987. From 1988 - 1992 the late Mr H. Lategan became the principal with a staff of 18 teachers. The school's enrolment rose to 1300. In 1992 Mr D. Walb... rugh became the principal until 2002. rom 2003 to 2008 mr J. Julius was the principal. From 2008 to 2012 Mr M. Amsterdam was the school's principal. Mrs L. Alexander acted as principal until March 2014. The learner enrolment took a dip from 1300, but in recent times, it'i's been picking up again. Over the years the school participated in many cultural and sports events like drama, folk dance and choir eisteddfods. Gold and special gold awards were accumulated over the years. In the recent past we had a rugby player and a walk athlete who obtained Western Province colours. Four of our learners also participated in the recent Drummies competition as part of a neighbouring school's troupe. The school now participates in co-curricular activities like WOW, Growsmart, Maths competitions. In the WOW competition in 2012, our school was the Grade 3 Group Champs.Read More
