We would like to express our gratitude and excitement as we announce a special partnership with Advocate Christ Medical Center to benefit the Perinatal Loss Program. Advocate Christ Medical Center has offered to rename the Perinatal Fund in honor of our little angel, Kelly Paige Wells. On July 2nd 2019, Ben and Katie Wells were given the devastatin... g news that at 35 weeks pregnant, their daughter no longer had a heartbeat. Ben is a paramedic for the Chicago Fire Department and Katie is a school counselor at St. Michael School. They married in 2017 and eagerly started a family. They reside in Mount Greenwood with their 2 year old son Benny (Benjamin Jr.). On July 2, 2019, they delivered their beautiful baby girl, Kelly Paige Wells, born sleeping. Ben and Katie's hearts broke at the silence that filled the delivery room that evening, and the arms that were left empty leaving the hospital later that week. Saying goodbye to their daughter Kelly was the hardest and most unexpected goodbye. A goodbye no parent should ever have to make. Throughout their stay at Christ Medical Center, the doctors, nurses, and perinatal loss coordinator allowed the Wells Family to heal with their kindness, care, and compassion. Ben and Katie will never forget the empathy, support, and love they shared with their family and with Kelly. No one is prepared for the decisions, aftermath, and grief that unfolds after the traumatic loss of an expected child. Our hope is that The Kelly Paige Wells Perinatal Fund can act as a support system for future families that suffer a third trimester loss. Our goal is to honor our little angel by helping to make a positive impact in the lives of future families that experience pregnancy and infant loss.
