Kelly Ryan Foundation

The Kelly Ryan foundation was created after our youngest daughter Kelly was stillborn. Kelly was 39 weeks and I was in labor when my doctor looked me in the eye and said, "There is no heartbeat", up until that day I had a normal textbook pregnancy. We quickly learned the costs of a burial and also how some cannot afford one. Through research we lea... rned of the horrible options that are available to families if they cannot cover the expenses. This foundation will assist those families in a proper funeral so that they may bury their babies and children with the same dignity that others are afforded. One in every four women will experience pregnancy/infant loss at some time in their life. Even if some don't end up experiencing it themselves, someone they know, their friend, their sister or their co-worker will. It is my hope that telling our story and starting this foundation we can reach other families who are mourning the loss of their child. It is important that taboos be broken and lines of communication will be opened and healing can begin for the thousands of families who experience this profound loss each year.
