KCIC specializes in improvised comedy -- comedy that's invented on the spot, based on audience suggestions. We even pull willing volunteers from the audience up on stage and involve them in the show. If you like "Who's Line Is It, Anyway?" and Second City, you'll love our shows. Our private shows can be customized to any theme, and our shows range from super-clean to PG-13 to Adults-only in style. We have performed in sketches, videos, commercials, and other pre-planned comedy, in addition to our specialty: high-energy improv comedy that is performed artfully, and pleases every audience. The KC Improv Company began in 2000 under the name Improv-Abilities and began its mission to collect, train, and present the best improv comedy talent in Kansas City. The Company specializes in short-form and long-form improv comedy. The group has undergone numerous changes since its inception, including performances every weekend at the Kick Comedy Theater and the addition of specialty formats like Presto!
