About Kaje Adjusting

The contract parties can request appraisal, typically the insurance company or the policyholder. Appraisal is appropriate anytime a financial dispute exists between the insurance company and the policyholder. The disputed amount can be large or small, but it must exist. Generally, you will also need proof of the financial difference (estimate, contract, etc.) prior to requesting appraisal. There is no specific time frames associated with appraisal. Usually, once one side as requested appraisal there is a 20 day time limit for the other side to select and assign their appraiser, however, this is specific to your individual insurance policy contract. There are a variety of conditions which can shorten or lengthen the appraisal process; however in general we attempt to complete the process in approximately 60-90 days, from the time both sides assign their appraisers. This is much shorter than litigation or use of a Public Adjuster. DO I NEED AN ATTORNEY DURING APPRAISAL? The general ideaRead more

This is much shorter than litigation or use of a Public Adjuster. DO I NEED AN ATTORNEY DURING APPRAISAL? The general idea of appraisal is to resolve the differences, informally. This means outside of the need for lawyers and judges. To start the appraisal process an attorney is not needed, and the vast majority of appraisal are completed without ever needing to hire and pay an attorney. There are some instances when an attorney maybe needed and if the need arises during the appraisal process, be assured I can refer a knowledgeable attorney, who is familiar with the appraisal process. ARE YOU A PUBLIC ADJUSTER? I am not a Public Adjuster and, in my opinion, there is no need for a public adjuster to settle a dispute on cost of repairs. This is what the appraisal process is for!!! There are some cases where a Public Adjuster is necessary, but in the majority of claims an Appraiser is what you need. CAN MY CONTRACTOR BE MY APPRAISER?
