The Kairos Global Foundation envisions the development of sustainable communities. Kairos mission is to address systemic and endemic issues of poverty and injustice and provide opportunities at various levels in the community for innovation that enhance the trajectory of growth. Alleviating poverty and addressing injustices can be a daunting task.... It is compounded further by the diversity of culture, language and people. This challenge, however, can be tackled by engaging with self contained rural communities. Our strategy therefore, is to focus our efforts on one village or a community at a time over a 5 year period and effect holistic transformation. The Kairos Global Foundation facilitates collective decision-making and collaborative action. Kairos strategically engages in an inclusive, systematic and participatory development process to empower and enable people to lead positive change and transform their communities. It is a people and community-centered approach to development. Programs are executed through Women's Transformation Groups (WTGs) formed and established in the villages. Kairos works closely with Women Transformation Groups (WTG) and places the onus of identifying issues and appropriate solutions with these groups. The WTG is responsible for assessing needs and taking their recommendations to Kairos to provide services. This ensures participation and ownership in the development process. It also builds the credibility and influence of women in the community. By building capacity and empowering women, they initiate and actively lead development initiatives and become ambassadors effecting change and transformation in their communities. Kairos currently fulfills its mission in Sri Lanka as well as in five Indian States Andhra Pradesh, Telengana, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Manipur, Bihar, Orissa and seeks to expand its reach.Read More
