Kaapland & Company Inc. was founded in November of 2010 By Kevin Smith and KC Williams. It launched in full operational mode on January 2, 2011. Kaapland & Company, Inc. is the second generation of Kaapland Insulation & Specialties Contractors, Inc. ( T/A Kaapland, Inc.) Owned by L.J. Smith, Bill Quire, and Kevin Smith. Upon L.J. Smith and Bill Qui... re's desire to retire and KC Williams (Maiden Name Of Quire) transition to ownership it was determined the best course of action was to create and have Kaapland & Company, Inc. manage all projects that would start January 2, 2011 or later with Kaapland Inc. finishing all projects that were currently underway. Both companies operated until Kaapland, Inc. finished all work that was under contract and officially closed in December of 2011. Kevin Smith has been in the insulation field since June of 1991. In May of 1995 he moved into the office and learned estimating from L.J. Smith and project management from Bill Quire. In 1999 Kevin Smith became a 10 percent owner of Kaapland, Inc. and in February of 2002 his ownership increased to 28 percent. Kevin Smith has 50 percent ownership in Kaapland & Company, Inc. and serves as President of the company. KC Williams started with Kaapland, Inc. full time in 2007. She helped manage the corporate side of the business until January 2, 2011 when Kaapland & Company, Inc., launched and she took responsibility for all Accounting, Corporate Insurances, and Human Resources. Under the tutelage of L.J. Smith and Bill Quire she fine-tuned her ability to manage all aspects of Corporate Operations. KC Williams has 50 percent ownership in Kaapland & Company, Inc. and serves as Executive Vice-President. Due to the unique manner in which Kaapland & Company, Inc. launched, its first project was College Park Elementary School which led to sales of 2.4 million in our first year and has increased significantly since.
