K-Startup Grand Challenge

The K-Startup Grand Challenge, established in 2016, is a government-funded accelerator program dedicated to supporting foreign startups in their entry into the Korean market and subsequent global expansion. This initiative actively promotes South Korea as a leading international hub for startup innovation and business development. The program provides selected startup teams with comprehensive benefits, including extensive networking opportunities, expert-led learning sessions, and crucial business development support. Operating with an employee range of 500-1,000 individuals, the challenge aims to facilitate growth and market penetration for promising ventures.

Participants benefit from a structured 3-month program designed to accelerate their operational capabilities and market readiness. In 2019, the initiative saw significant global interest, receiving 1,677 applications from 95 countries, from which 38 teams were selected for acceleration. A subsequent demo day identified 20 teams for further follow-up support. For 2020, the program expanded its scope to accommodate 60 innovative startup teams.
