Jonathan Mattanah

Welcome! My name is Jonathan Mattanah (pronounce ma - ta - naah) and I am licensed, clinical psychologist in Maryland. I am also a professor of psychology at Towson University. Prior to moving to Maryland, I completed my Ph.D. at the University of California, Berkeley, where I received in-depth training on multiple forms of psychotherapy and worked... extensively with children, adolescents, and adults. Although my practice is currently focused on adults with mental health disorders, I also work with couples, adolescents, and families. My approach to therapy is simple: Meet each client where they are, listen deeply and compassionately to their concerns, and try to find ways to help them grow and develop their strengths to overcome the challenges of their life. I have over 20 years of experience working with a wide range of clients, including those diagnosed with Panic Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, Specific Phobias, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). In therapy with adults and families, I utilize a mixture of approaches and philosophies, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), client-centered therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), psychodynamic therapy, and family systems therapy. I am also deeply committed to providing culturally sensitive and affirmative therapies.
