John Kaldor Fabricmaker UK Ltd was first established in 1978 as an agency. The business was sufficiently strong in its first year for Mr John Kaldor to decide that he should indeed establish his own office in the UK and this happened in 1979. The innovation and design flair coupled with the renowned quality and service provided by John Kaldor Fabri... cmaker UK quickly spread amongst the customer base in the UK and led to rapid expansion. Within two years John Kaldor London was now supplying such illustrious companies as Frank Usher, Marks & Spencer in the UK and had also now established firm links with customers primarily in France and Germany. By 1980 the Company's turnover had grown from zero to around £4 million and necessitated increased staff levels and a move in property size. Again in 1988 we had to move to larger premises and took a prestigious site in the heart of London's West End at 4 Great Portland Street, London W1 to enable us to continue expanding our business. By now the name of John Kaldor Fabricmaker UK Ltd had very firmly established itself as the innovative supplier of quality fashion fabrics. It was also around this time that we joined the leading edge fabric trade show, Premiere Vision, which helped further our sales push into Continental Europe. It also resulted in us establishing agents not only in France and Germany, but now also in Belgium, Holland, Greece, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Austria, Hungary, Poland and Czech Republic. Also at this time John Kaldor Fabricmaker UK had really begun to establish its European fabric production at the request of its customers. This was because they wanted shorter lead times, especially for repeat orders. This is still a very important part of our customers' requests and indeed an ever-growing aspect of our business.
