John Cody Carters CD, Dont You Think Its Time, answers its question with its music. Yes, it is time for a new traditional country music CD that is pure classic country music. "Dont You Think Its Time" features fourteen songs written in the classic country style of Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson and Hank Cochran (I Fall To Pieces, Make The World Go Aw... ay). In fact, Hank Cochran co-wrote five songs with Cody on "Dont You Think Its Time", and Merle Haggard wrote the CDs liner notes, giving the CD his full endorsement. The CDs first single, Lets Stop Right Where We Are, reached #24 on the Texas Music Chart. The second single "Don't Walk Out On Me" went to #23 on the Texas Music Chart. The third single released "Houston Bound" reached #22 on the Texas Music Chart. All three songs consecutively enjoyed runs over five months in the top 50 of the Texas Music Chart. Codys first songwriting contract was with Merle Haggards "Inorbit Publishing" and by 1990 he penned his first top 40 single on the country music charts. Codys chart success opened doors in Nashville and he moved there with a new songwriting contract and an eventual recording contract with Warner Bros. Records. Cody was brought to Warner Brothers by producer Gregg Brown (Travis Tritt, Tanya Tucker, Chris Ledoux , Waylon Jennings). Former Warner Brothers A&R V.P. Doug Grau signed Cody.
