About Job Watch

Job Watch was founded in 1980, and was a concept that developed out of the experiences of unemployed people who had been involved in dubious training courses and employment practices. Over its 20 year history, Job Watch's field of expertise has grown to include most aspects of employment law and industrial rights and the organisation has been at the forefront of significant employment law reform issues, including: the regulation of misleading job advertising; the prevention of bullying and violence in the workplace; increasing and protecting industrial rights for Victorian non-award employees; and the promotion of flexible and family-friendly workplace policies. Job Watch first received government funding in March 1981 and funding has been continuous since that time. Job Watch is now an integral component of Victoria's industrial relations infrastructure and provides advice to over 20,000 Victorian workers annually.Explore more
