Jill Rivkin

A Masters Degree in Journalism (MSJ) from Northwestern Universitys Medill School of Journalism is what brought Jill to Chicago after she spent four years earning a Bachelors Degree in English (BA) from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Jill was born and raised in suburban Detroit, though having spent more than 13 years in Chicago already, sh... e now considers herself a Chicagoan. For more than a decade, Jill wrote, edited, managed and mastered the art of trade journalism for a handful of food, beverage and packaging magazines. Having covered processing plants, major retail chains, ingredient and machinery techno logy, new products, consumer trends, the beverage, snack and private label industries, as well as major branded companies, Jill dabbled in freelancing and decided it was time time to launch Jill Rivkin Communications. Today, Jill is freelancing for a host of business-to-business publications, as well as market research firms, marketing teams and other organizations. She writes, edits and repurposes content for print and electronic media and welcomes the opportunity to further broaden her scope and reach. She also works with personal writing application essays for college and graduate school, Web site content and Dear Birth Mom adoption letters. When shes not writing, Jill adores spending time with her amazing daughter, son, and husband, trying hard to be a runner and, admittedly, watching all sorts of DVRd TV. In September 2014, Jill achieved her dream of publishing a kids' book when Crazy Hair published. It teaches kids to recognize differences, be confident in themselves and love their hair and everything about themselves.
