In 2010, a devastating earthquake left thousands of families in Haiti without a place to call home and this catastrophic event left the country in shambles and in desperate need of help. Today, many are still struggling to recover from the magnitude of this disaster. Irma knew something had to be done; with her not enough she decided to do her best... to build a home for a family that was in extreme need. Today Irmas dream is now a reality, Jesus Helping Hands is dedicated to providing a stable shelter for orphaned children. The goal is to see that abandoned children are in a stable home. Ban Ki-moon said Education promotes equality and lifts people out of poverty. It teaches children how to become good citizens. Education is not just for a privileged few, it is for everyone. It is a fundamental human right. Jesus Helping Hands Foundation believes that every child should be given the opportunity to attend school, for the chance of higher education. Funding education for less fortunate children is a priority. With the help of supporters hundreds of children are able to attend school. According to WRP, One-hundred thousand children under five years of age suffer from acute malnutrition, while one in three children is stunted, or irreversibly short for the age. Basic essentials such as food and clean running water are very scarce in Haiti, the goal isnt only to provide hot meals and non perishable foods for the less fortunate but to also help farmers grow their own crops.
