Jensen Design Associates, Inc., was chosen to refresh and reorganize Canon USA's Reseller Web site. The primary objective of canonresellers.com is to provide Canon's resellers with a comprehensive site on which to attain sales, marketing, and product information. The site also serves as a recruitment tool for prospective resellers. The main goal of... the project was to create a Web site that allows users to easily navigate and locate the necessary information. JDA's goals included refreshing the look and feel of the Web site to be more Canon branded, reorganizing the navigation to minimize the number of "clicks" a visitor must go through to get to the desired page by using drop down menus, and implementing password protected-areas. JDA refreshed the site to look more Canon-branded by creating a header with a white Canon logo reversed out of a red bar. The site also uses the colors red, blue, and gray to give it that "techy" and professional touch. The site was kept clean cut and user-friendly from the very beginning. JDA created 2 portals: one for scanners and one for printers. This allows users to go to the product category of their choice without having to sift through unwanted information. As a template, a drop down menu that uses the highlight feature stays on the left-hand side of the page. This enables the user to keep track of exactly where they are in the site. While the main priority of Canon's reseller Web site is to make information easily accessible to registered resellers, it is also important to keep the information confidential from unauthorized users. In order to accomplish this, JDA made certain areas of the site password-protected. JDA also created a content management system that allows the site administrator to add and edit new content easily and whenever necessary.
