A Henkel AG KGaA owned company, JemPak is an R&D centric, North American chemical company providing high quality products and services to the Household, Industrial, Institutional, Health & Beauty and General Chemical markets. The Consumers division caters primarily to private label single dose pods and packaged liquid detergents and cleaners. Headquartered in Concord, JemPak has plants in both Concord and Oakville Ontario. Witco sells its Canadian chemical business and assets to a private investor and was renamed JemPak Canada Inc. The newly formed companys main plant was located in Oakville and produced a range of sulfates, ether sulfates, sulfonates and LAS by both batch and continuous processing units. These were utilized for in house production of household and industrial cleaners and detergents for the Consumer Products Division and also sold to the merchant market through the Chemical Division, JemPak also gained Witco plants in Brantford and Montreal manufacturing powdered laundry detergents which provided powder for the consumer products division and were also sold to industrial and institutional customers by the Chemical division The Montreal plant closed due to the consumers change in preference for liquid laundry products vs powdered detergent.
