All Pediatricians at our practice are Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, and are Fellows of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP). has been in private practice for over 30 years. Dr. Bernstein founded Jay A. Bernstein M.D., P.A. to provide pediatric and adolescent medical care, and this practice has grown to include two locati... ons in Rockville and Germantown. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Syracuse University in New York and he obtained his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 1974. He completed his Pediatrics residency at Children's National Medical Center in Washington D.C. After residency, he directed the pediatric half of a downtown ER for three years before entering private practice. He is the past Chairman of the Pediatric Department at Shady Grove Hospital in Rockville MD. Dr. Bernstein is an avid sports fan who continues to play competitive baseball, tennis and golf on a regular basis. He also has a special place in his heart for classic cars.
