As a previous California School Counselor of the Year and a past California Association of School Counselors (CASC) President, I understand the many daily respons... ibilities that school counselors have while interacting with students, staff, and families. I am honored and proud to say that my school was the first middle school in the nation to receive the RAMP recognition from the American School Counselor Association (ASCA)! My school counselor partners and I followed that up by earning a total of four RAMPs for our school. I believe in comprehensive school counseling programs as they create advantages for students. All students deserve to work with a school counselor. As a strong advocate for school counselors and school counseling programs, I can help you make the transition from a school counselor working in a school to a school counselor using data to develop, implement, and evaluate your school counseling program. I started as a school counselor working without national standards. As the standards developed, I embraced the concept. Once the ASCA National Model for School Counseling programs was developed, I knew that the structure would help me develop a school counseling program to meet the needs of my students.
