Philip Jarmain is a Director, D.O.P. and Photographer who started his career as a teenager working for Rawi Sherman, a large production company in Toronto producing television commercials. He moved West to attend Film School and then spent ten years with I.A.T.S.E. lighting feature films and episodic television. His desire to be more involved in th... e creative process with smaller crews led him to leave the film industry and begin work as a commercial photographer. Conceptual advertising was a chance to still participate in the collaborative process that was so crucial in film making but on a smaller more intimate level. The changing landscape of advertising and the thrill of storytelling has now brought Jarmain full circle as he now finds himself as a D.O.P., Director and Photographer on television, on-line and print campaigns. Jarmain Productions has a fully equipped motion and stills studio in Vancouver but tackles international projects. Clients include; Jameson Whiskey, Volkswagen, BMW, Esso, Pfizer, Lotto 649, Tim Hortons and many more. When there is down time Jarmain pursues fine art projects such as American Beauty; The Opulent Pre-Depression Architecture of Detroit which has garnered much international press and will be showing next at the Miami Art Fair in November of 2016.Read More
