Jams Theatre

JAMS Theatre Company was founded in 2011 by Director Dana Murphy and volunteer parent producer Patti Braun, with support from the Santa Monica Malibu Education Foundation. Past productions include "Into the Woods" (2011), "Grease" (2012), "Seussical" (2013), "Oliver!" (2014), "Bye Bye Birdie" (2015), "Into the Woods" (2016), "Anything Goes" (2017),... "Wonka" (2018), "Singin' in the Rain" (2019), and "Matilda" (workshopped during COVID, 2020). A comprehensive after-school middle school theatre program, JAMS-SMASH Theatre Company was designed to teach JAMS and SMASH students the basics of theatre performance and production, including workshops in acting, improvisation, singing, movement, costuming, set/lighting, sound design, and much more. Students work throughout the school year rehearsing in a supportive and encouraging workshop environment. They also participate in the production and performance of a spring musical. There is no participation fee; JAMS-SMASH Theatre Company is committed to providing an opportunity for every student who wishes to take part, regardless of financial situation. JAMS-SMASH Theatre Company depends on parent and community volunteers, and high school mentors.
