Jacob Garchik

Jacob Garchik is a trombonist and composer whose work spans jazz, contemporary classical, and Balkan brass traditions. His artistic practice demonstrates a deep engagement with cross-cultural musical expression and the technical demands of multiple genres. Garchik has released multiple albums as a leader, establishing himself through both solo work... and collaborative projects that reflect his commitment to exploring diverse musical vocabularies. As a composer and arranger, Garchik has created substantial bodies of work for chamber ensembles and orchestral settings. His arrangement portfolio encompasses over one hundred pieces, demonstrating expertise in orchestration and adaptation across varying instrumental configurations. This work reflects both technical mastery and conceptual sophistication in translating musical ideas across different performance contexts. Garchik co-leads a Mexican brass band based in Brooklyn, an ensemble that performs traditional and contemporary material within the brass band idiom.
