The role of a CNA depends on the medical setting (nursing home, adult daycare centers, rehab centers, assisted living environments, mental health cent... ers, hospital, etc.) that needs long or short-term care. The CNA assists Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) and Registered Nurses (RN) with the patients basic daily activities. There is a great need for CNAs across the nation and the Jackson Medical Mall (JMM)/ CNA Training Center want to assist you in the required training for entry into the nursing profession. After completion, you can choose your flexible schedule (day, afternoon, evening, etc.) or whether you want to work full or part-time. CNAs play an important role in a patient's life. Some CNA duties include: (1) Answering call lights of patients, (2) Escorting patients to operating rooms, (3) Keeping patients' rooms neat, (4) Serving meals, (5) Taking temperatures, (6) Making beds, (7) Taking pulse rates, (8) Taking blood pressures, (9) Dressing patients, (10) Bathing patients, (11) Assisting in and out of beds, (12) Observing conditions of patients, (13) Setting up equipment, etc. Jackson Medical Mall Proprietary HealthCare Institute program is a 130 hour or a 6-week course in length, which provides both classroom and clinical training at a local nursing home. Upon completion, participants are prepared for immediate employment.
