JA Frate was founded in 1971 out of a need for a dependable local carrier. Doug Jennings, founder of Jennings Air Frate, was frustrated with the trucking companies at the time because they were not able to get his shipments to the airport on the same day. Out of his frustration Doug began making his own drops for the company he worked for with his... Saab station wagon. Doug thought, "There must be other companies that can't get their freight to the airport quickly."Soon, Doug was serving local companies that also needed transportation services. In 1971 Doug officially launched JA Frate and went into business, starting with only one truck. Doug's "Just Ask" service philosophy has made a strong impression on customers and fueled JA Frate's growth. "Just Ask" has also helped JA Frate sustain their customer base and increase the scope of business of business services. What began as guaranteed regional deliveries, expanded to warehousing, container drayage services, and most recently nationwide 3rd party logistics.
