J & R Tractor

J & R TRACTOR was founded in 1946 by William Wagenknecht and his partners Jim Pinkham, Rod Chapman and Elmer Schultz. The business was originally located at 15525 S Dixie Hwy. in the Monroe Townsite Plaza north of Dunbar Rd. In 1953 Mr. Pinkham and Mr. Chapman left the company and the business moved across the street and further south to it's prese... nt 4 1/2 acre site at 15330 S. Dixie Hwy. In 1962 when declining health persuaded Mr. Shultz to sell his holdings in J&R, the company took in three new stockholders, Earl Reaume, Warren Bowman and Arnold Kreuger. At the companies 50th anniversary on Aug 1st 1996, only Bill and Earl remained as owners. In Sept of 2004, after serving the community for 58 years, they decide to sell the business so they could semi retire and assure the continuance of the dealership. Mark Faske and Jim Marl bought J & R Tractor on September 4th, 2004 bringing with them over 60 years of combined experience in the equipment business.
