Izgara is set within the vibrant restaurant quarter of Whetstone, North London and is within a couple of minutes walk from Totteridge and Whetstone Underground station. Its as much about great people as it is about great great Turkish Cuisine, as traditional dishes from mainland Turkey are served with a modern twist. Pride and care is taken in the kitchen to prepare and cook using only the finest ingredients. Really tasty, lots of veg choice and service with a smile. Felt like a great family restaurant. The falafel, halloumi, houmous, filo pastry and other veg dishes were really tasty. Great Friday evening out in a great restaurant. We went on the spur of the moment as we were trapped out in North London! Our biggest disappointment was that we were staying in a hotel so could not take the masses of food we couldn't manage to eat away with us. Mixed hot starters and mixed kebab/guvec all really tasty and the mixed breads that came with our meal a delight. My husband manage to squeeze in the delicious baklava more out of greed but could not resist and was not disappointed -if ever we are in this neck of the woods again we will do a return visit and would not hesitate to recommend -lovely helpful staff and the fact there was not an empty seat in the house by the time we left at 8pm says it all.
