Your summer of a lifetime starts here. The University of Virginia (UVA), consistently ranked as one of the top research universities in the U.S., is the academic sponsor for the iXperience education abroad program in Cape Town, South Africa. As the accredited school of record for iXperience, UVA oversees the academic program and issues a transcript... for coursework. All participants are enrolled in University of Virginia courses during their term of study and can earn transferable credit. This means a few things for iX students. First, you'll be granted a transcript from UVA as a visiting student, which you may be able to transfer to your home institution. Each university's process is different, so you'll have to speak to your own study abroad office to figure out the process (unless, of course, you go to UVA). Second, you may now be eligible for financial aid from your university or the government to attend iX. Again, the process for this is different for each university, so please check with your study abroad office for how this might work. Third, it means iX has new eligibility requirements for participation.
