ISON implements comprehensive processes and activities on design management under the existing NPD (New Product development) program. The program attempts to achieve our goal in cost competitiveness, designed-in quality, shortest cycle time, on-time delivery, during product design stage, and most importantly, risk-free when product is going for mas... s production. Under the Program a dedicated project team will be formed once when the product/project is approved for kick-off. The team is led by a project manager who serves as the central point of contact with the customer and to make sure the development evolving as it is planned in cost, time/schedule and quality. ISON's NPD process involves three phases: • EV (Engineering Verification) • DV (Design Verification) • MV (Manufacturing Verification) We define requirements and set the control gate with criteria for each phase. Only project with proven and acceptable quality and data is allowed to move ahead to next design phase. While during MV phase the product/project will be then migrated to NPI (New Product Introduction to mass production) process in which all activities are devoted to ensure product is well ready for following mass production. ISON employees DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) methodology to ensure a product be well designed with robustness and risk-free. The DFX ( Design for various perspectives ) concepts are also utilized throughout the program to earlier address the potential issues in all aspects which are relevant to manufacturing and to initiate prior remedies beforehand, such as in material cost and availability risk in production, readiness of production & test, green & safe environment, after-service effectiveness, etc. The design works shall follow the defined Design Rules and be reviewed through Check List to avoid any design characteristic be missed and fault recurred.
