Isochem Colors, Inc. was founded by Bill Whisenant and Rudy Heer in 1990. The combination of Bill's knowledge of the textile industry and Rudy's experience in manufacturing rapidly grew Isochem into one of the largest dyestuff suppliers in the country. The company has grown and developed over the years from dyes to commodity chemicals used in preparation, dyeing, and finishing. Now the company is the largest supplier of durable flame resistant for cotton in the world. The company still offers many of the products it originally sold 25 years ago. Isochem is a company with a strong background in research and development and a promoter and innovator of Flame Resistant Cotton. Isochem was once only a US supplier but now supplies products all over the world. The company works to establish partnerships with the company's customers to help them improve processing as well as developing new products. The Isochem Team recognizes the need for continued development and has built a Research Center capable of producing first quality finished samples 18 inches in width at continuous length. Some of the Pilot Equipment in the Research Center is not found anywhere in the world. The Pilot Equipment can prepare, dye, finish, and shrink knit and woven cloth. The technical team works to improve plant processing, eliminate processing, and looks for ways to improve process controls. Many development concepts in new chemistries are based on lab work that is produced on small scale, not with the plant equipment in mind.
