Iona College

For 59 years, Iona College has made a firm commitment to enhancing the educational opportunities of local families in a Catholic faith context and have done so without the need to charge out-of-reach fees; offer scholarships or take short cuts. Income from fees and government contributions help cover the operational expenses of the College however,... to enable the development and expansion of the College's infrastructure and resources, sponsorship and donations are sought. The Capital Projects Contribution (CPC), which is generously supported by the Iona Parent Body, contributes toward essential ongoing maintenance of existing facilities and augments the development of new facilities. The larger infrastructure projects under the College Master Plan however require funding beyong the scope of the CPC. Over the years, the provision of many College facilities will be attributed to the generosity of Iona families, Old Boys and our trusted partners. A Board of Directors oversees the operation of the Foundation. Currently those serving on the board are: Fr Michael Twigg OMI - Chairman and Rector Mr Doug Barton Mr Graham Evans Mr John Quinn Mr Ross King Mr Danny Fitzpatrick Three tax-deductible funds are offered by the Foundation. The Library Fund seeks cash donations and gifts to acquire resources such as publications, novels, electronic resources, videos, maps and CDs for the College Resource Centre from which all students and teachers share and benefit. Donations to the Scholarship Fund provide bursaries to provide places for and assist the education of students whose families are unable to afford their son an education at Iona. The costs associated with the Master Plan of the College are the Foundation's primary charge and donations for this purpose are managed under the Foundation's Building Fund.
