Ideally, it'll also sit alongside a photo that has had so many filters applie... d to it that it's virtually CGI. Hopefully, I haven't disappointed on either point. I am a writer and editor available for writing commissions and consultancy work. I have been a journalist for 12 years, working in newspapers, consumer-facing magazine, websites and branded content. Unless you count student newspapers (most people don't!), I actually started my career in China working for proto-Time Out magazine, Shanghai Talk. As well as reviews and what's on features, I also wrote on a number of major issues facing China at the time. But it was mostly bar and restaurant reviews. (No complaints here!). I returned to England to complete my NCTJ (I can still do 'Ladies and Gentleman' in Shorthand!) and I joined the News of the World's online team to manage the entire website content for Fabulous Magazine and the newspaper's sports desk. I quickly worked my way up and joined the features desk as Showbiz Reporter, where I spent three years covering the biggest showbiz events and interviewing the biggest names in showbiz. I also interviewed Jedward. Next up, I spent a year of freelance shift work for various women's and men's consumer titles, including Reveal, Best, More and Nuts and many others, before joining ZOO Magazine as Deputy News Editor. I was promoted to News & Games Editor, winning awards (and losing others) for the magazine's gaming coverage. After more than three years at ZOO, I joined Egmont UK to work at Toxic Magazine, the country's best-selling boys' lifestyle title, before being named Editor a year later.
