Established in 1939, Interknit has been manufacturing high quality knitwear which suits almost any environment. Making jumpers and socks for a variety of ranges which include knitwear for high end fashion labels, quality workwear jumper lines for corporate and blue collar employees and it even caters for the outdoor person on the farm. Interknit's products are sold all over Australia, and exported overseas. Interknit now mainly manufacturers jumpers, but this was not always the case. Interknit began in 1939 as a sock manufacturer, and then in 1981 it bought a few flat bed knitting machines and started making jumpers. As the market developed, sock production decreased and conversely jumper production increased. So Interknit's focus has moved to jumpers and today has well over 30 knitting machines which are capable of producing various types of specialised knits from the very fine gauge to the bulky gauge. All of Interknit's products are both designed and made in Australia. Something that we at Interknit value very highly, is the importance of keeping skilled Australians in the workforce.
