Founded in 1996, Integrated Coal Mining Limited (ICML) is a Private Sector Captive Open Cast Coal Mining company, with strong leadership, a solid foundation of tangible assets and a proven strategy for growth. ICML is promoted by CESC Limited, a RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group Company (formerly known as RPG Group), to develop a Captive Coal Mine at Sarshata... li in Asansol, West Bengal, for consistent and uninterrupted fuel supply to its thermal power plants. With commencement of its mining operation in May, 2002 and coal dispatch from October 2002, from the Sarshatali Coal mine, ICML has grown steadily to supply nearly 55% of the thermal coal demand of CESC. Our success is driven by our people and their unrelenting focus on delivering results the right way - by operating responsibly, executing with excellence, applying innovative technologies and capturing new opportunities for profitable growth. We are built on a solid foundation of quality, productivity, safety and integrity and poised for future expansion and growth. To achieve higher efficiencies in surface mining we employ our unique skill sets in optimizing the coal quality and minimizing the impact of a complex geological formation. We are also employing selective mining methods to ensure the best coal recovery from the inter-banded seams. To minimize negative impacts of our operation on the environment , we follow a proper Waste Management System by converting carbonaceous shale from waste material into power station fuel. Inspite of being a young organisation we have crossed several milestones in our journey, the least of which is scaling up its production to the level desired by customer.
