I have a Master's Degree in Counseling and Higher Education from the University of North Texas in Denton. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, and am fully trained in EMDR therapy. I work with clients from many different backgrounds, and have experience counseling individuals from age 6 and up, as well as couples and families. My specialty of focus is trauma counseling, but I also have an extensive history of helping with anxiety and depression, as well as relationship difficulties and adjusting to lifes challenges. My counseling style is one of compassion and caring. My desire is to facilitate your growth and healing, while at the same time providing a safe space for you to share your emotions. The therapeutic techniques I use consistently include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy. These types of therapy styles explore the meanings we attach to significant events in our lives as well as to help break the cycle of negative thought patterns that have developed over time, and to help develop much more realistic and healthy mindsets. I also utilize EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) if it is beneficial to a client's healing. My purpose is not to walk ahead of you, telling you where to go, nor is it to walk behind you, picking up the pieces, but rather to walk beside you, giving you support on your healing journey and working collaboratively with you to find solutions that work for you!
