About Injection Mold

Injection Mold, Inc. was founded in July of 1979 by Delbert Vawter. As a visionary, he dreamed of owning and operating his own mold shop. After working in the industry as a toolmaker for several years, he felt there was a better way to do business than the way the companies he had worked for operated. Renting a small garage in North Vernon, Indiana, he started out building lens molds for the automotive industry until business slowed due to high gas prices. Then he went after the bottling industry building thread splits and blow molds. In the mid 1980s, a recession hit and business slowed again. Delbert decided to focus on quicker delivery time for prototype and production tools. He knew in order to achieve these quicker delivery times he would have to invest in new technology and more employees. By the early 2000s Delbert invested in new CNC Mills and updated the software in the shop to the newest technology available. This investment came with a price but soon started to pay off. Due to Delbert's sacrifices he was able to drastically shorten delivery times which, in turn, gave Injection Mold the ability to compete against other Rapid Prototype Mold companies within and outside the U.S.; it opened doors to new customers and industries to serve. Today, through Delbert's vision and Injection Mold's hard work and dedication, the company has grown to be competitive on a global level. Injection Mold does work around the world and is known for its expertise in quick delivery prototype and production molds.Read More
