The aim of the BFI Strategy for Ontario is to provide supports and resources for Ontario health care organizations to assist in their journey to become designated Baby-Friendly. The BFI Strategy is a partnership of the Michael Garron Hospital, the Best Start Resource Centre, and the Provincial Council for Maternal and Child Health. Breastfeeding Re... sources Ontario is hosted and supported by the Best Start Resource Centre, a program of Health Nexus. The development of this website has been guided by an expert Advisory Committee. Members are largely health care professionals from organizations across Ontario and include representatives from hospital, community health, Aboriginal health, midwifery, Better Outcomes and Registry Network (BORN) Ontario and other key stakeholder groups such as peer supporters. Purpose: The purpose of the website is to have a centralized source of high-quality, evidence-informed, reliable breastfeeding resources aligned with the Baby-Friendly Initiative, to prevent duplication of effort, facilitate knowledge translation and sharing of best practice resources, and provide easy access of these resources directly to organizations in Ontario, healthcare professionals and families. Resources: Every effort has been made to include high quality, evidence-informed resources that are compatible with the Baby-Friendly Initiative. Resources must meet established criteria to be included, and are reviewed regularly for currency and appropriateness.
