Donors like you provide Accom... modation, a secure, affordable apartment that those in need can call home. Donors also provide innovative Information and Support Services that enable tenants to live independently. Navigating a complex mental health system; standing by their side advocating for their rights; offering yoga and nutrition instruction are some examples of what 'support' means to tenants. Tenants, confirm it... "AIS is definitely...more than housing!" Since 1972, AIS had been a community leader in advocating for, and building, more supportive housing in Toronto. Over the past four decades, AIS has experienced steady and gradual growth. Today, the organization owns and manages four small apartment buildings in Toronto's residential communities of Riverdale, Beaches, Annex, and Downtown Toronto. AIS communities provide affordable, permanent housing and support services to more than 105 people, including singles, couples and families. Tenants who are deaf or hard of hearing can live safely in 10 specially designed units equipped with visual alarm alerts. Support staff are able to offer services in American Sign Language.
