About Informal Classes
Established in 2010. We provide fun, educational, and dynamic informal classes including photography, dancing, art, fitness and more! Try a variety of classes with us without a large time commitment. In 1909, The University of Texas at Austin created an innovative service to extend its rich educational resources to all Texans: Continuing and Innovative Education was born. For 100 years, CIE has worked to meet the growing needs of traditional and non-traditional students both in Texas and beyond. The Division of Continuing and Innovative Education (CIE) at The University of Texas at Austin announced the introduction of a new personal enrichment program which began in the fall of 2010. Rather than a direct continuation of the original Informal Classes offered by the Texas Union, this new program was developed in the spirit of Informal Classes based on community interest in noncredit courses. The new home for CIE's informal classes is at the Thompson Conference Center (TCC).Explore more
