INFOLINK, in partnership with the New Jersey State Library, assisted public libraries in purchasing and installing equipment to offer wireless services to library customers. During the spring of 2006, twenty-two public libraries in four counties took advantage of this grant opportunity on behalf of their service populations. Piloted a downloadable... audio book project for libraries serving 2 million residents. INFOLINK, in partnership with the Central Jersey Regional Library Cooperative implemented a downloadable audio book project for 20 public, high school and community college library systems numbering 70 libraries in all. ListenNJ.com enables library participates to reach out to new target audiences, to extend resources for current customers, and to cost share on content and access. Expanded the format and audience for continuing education services. INFOLINK and its Advocacy Committee, in collaboration with the New Jersey State Library, the New Jersey Library Trustee Association, and the New Jersey Library Association, offered training locally to 89 Board of Trustee members in a highly successful dinner meeting format. We also developed and offered a pilot program to extend the breadth and depth of training and to foster onsite staff development in member libraries. In twelve sessions, 280 professional and support staff from 18 libraries shared an education experience in an efficient and cost effective manner. Staff in libraries across the cooperative increased skills and knowledge through INFOLINK's expansive continuing education program and hands on technology training sessions. Our Tech Talk series educated librarians and administration decision-makers on IM Reference, RSS feeds in a library setting, and Blogging and its application in libraries.
