Welcome to Imperfect Wellbeing! I'm a certified AFPA Holistic Nutritionist, Health and Wellness Coach and Autoimmune Nutritionist. I started this journey as a way to help people to improve their quality of life by putting more focus on all aspects of their health and wellbeing. I have always paid attention to health and wellness. However, over the... past 10 years since having my first child, and dealing with health issues of my own, I have spent quite a bit of time digging deeper into my understanding of physical and mental health. I would like to share what I have learned and continue to learn with you. Our lives are complicated we have good days and bad days and there are so many things outside of our control. We quickly lose motivation because it is easy to feel like we never accomplish 100% of the goals that we set. That is why I have found that staying away from an all or nothing way of thinking helps when we decide to take our first steps to change. It turns out that not trying to be PERFECT makes a difference. The most important driver of change is having a plan to focus on, doing more of what is good for you and less of what isnt. I have always had a passion for helping people. It led me all the way to a masters degree in developmental psychology from Columbia University. I have spent many years working with children and adults from many walks of life. This includes children, parents and teachers in New York, Boston and Miami. Also, developmentally challenged and hearing impaired children in rural Jamaica, and children in state custody in different countries. These experiences have helped me to develop my approach to problem solving the challenges that individuals of all ages and stages confront as they seek personal satisfaction and improve their well-being.
