About Impending Storm Productions

Welcome to Impending Storm Productions, a Melbourne based theatre company that continuously bring new plays and films that are challenging, provocative, raw and humanly dark. We aim to create change through starting honest conversations and stirring thoughts and emotions we hide deep down. Originally created as Thatcher's Boy Theatre, the company was founded by Kieran Gould-Dowen in early 2017. Thatcher's Boy Theatre produced four productions in their first year: two of their show 'Take A Seat', followed by the contemporary piece 'Continue Without Saving?' and finished the year with the comedy 'More Pudding Anyone?' In 2018, Thatcher's Boy Theatre hit the floor running, starting with two productions of 'Hold Me, I Beg You' in Melbourne and Adelaide, a well received production of 'Fall On Death Ears' at The Butterfly Club, 'Cracked Smiles' at Chapel Off Chapel, and finished the year with electrifying and immersive show 'The Execution Will Not Be Televised' at The MC Showroom in NovemberRead more

After three years of hard work and determination, the company has become more than just an idea, but a regular player in the Melbourne theatre scene. Now confident in the voice we have, and with Teresa Noble and Allie Luecke joining our team, we have re-branded as Impending Storm Productions, ready for 2020 and beyond with many more plays, online shows and films lined up over the next few years. Originally from the UK, Kieran performed in various theatre productions back home such as 'The History Boys' and 'Sweet Charity' before heading to drama school for three years in Northampton. Since moving to Australia almost three years ago, Kieran has performed with Northern Theatre Company in 'A Servant Of Two Masters', as well as 'Shakespeare In Therapy' in both Melbourne Fringe and Adelaide Fringe, written and directed by Sharmini Kumar.
