IGO Baptist Missions

The founder of IGO Baptist Missions -- Dale Boyles -- began visiting Liberia in December 1984. Subsequent trips were made in the following years to continue trying to reach more Liberians for Christ and to help in church planting and growth. IGO has not only made it a priority to spread the Gospel of Christ, but to also train other Liberians to par... take in an indigenous evangelism movement to reach their own people for Christ. Then, in 1989, a five man board was formed: Dayle Boyles, Clifton Eaton, Mavis Eaton, Terrance Steele, Marilyn Munro. (Click here for a list of the current staff.) During the first few board meetings, officers were installed, a statement of faith was approved, and the ministry began supporting four native evangelists in Liberia. IGO Baptist Missions was officially incorporated under its original name "International Gospel Outreach" in the United States on February 13, 1990 and received its 501c3 tax exempt status December 11, 1990. Later, it was incorporated as well in Liberia on June 26, 1995. Different members of the board made nine trips to Liberia between 1985-2001. Nearly every year since 2001, different board members made additional trips to Liberia. These trips were often used to teach and train pastors , hold nightly church meetings , and follow up on progress in the field. IGO Baptist Missions was officially renamed a final time in 2005 under its current name and remains IGO Baptist Missions.
