Identity Homes was founded in July of 2000 by a local family with over 125 years of combined experience in development, construction, and real estate throughout Southeast Texas. With visions of creating a great company that would allow them to work together, Scott Lease and Jim Garrett decided to buy a few leftover lots in an older community in Sug... ar Land and build their first homes. They brought their mom, Sharon Campbell, a well-respected Realtor, in to help them market and sell those first five homes. Sharon stayed on and ran the sales and marketing efforts for the company until June of 2010, when she decided to retire, although she still remains an appreciated advisor. From there, Scott and Jim were able to buy the remaining 16 lots in Ironwood Estates in Richmond and a ten acre tract next door which would become their first development, Ironwood Forest. From a small construction trailer, the family worked tirelessly to grow their company. Ironwood Forest became a fast-selling community where buyers found a custom home lifestyle in a small community setting. Their customizable home designs and flexibility have earned them a great reputation among the local community. In those first few years, almost all of their homes were sold by referral.
