Idaho Recognition

To the amazing Class of 2020. A generation that entered this world while America was reeling the effects of 9/11 and are completing your first 18 years of development and education amid the COVID-19 pandemic. It is evident you will leave your mark in history. What is less evident is the remainder of your senior year. Will you get to have a final se... nior day? Will you have Prom, a yearbook signing party, or a senior skip day? Will you have a graduation ceremony? Many answers are yet to be revealed, but I want you to know that you are not alone. Your peers, parents, educators, and communities across America understand and empathize with the Class of 2020. And we all know you are resilient. You show gratitude for what you have, you roll with the punches, and you make the best with whatever this world deals you. I remember being in a hotel in Elko, Nevada, watching on TV, airplanes fly into The World Trade Center. My wife was 5 months pregnant with our son, Isaac, who is now a senior and two months from graduating. I cant truly experience what he is going through at this moment. I do, however, know how it feels as a parent. And while I will do anything for the happiness of my son, Im so very proud of him for his positive attitude during this unfortunate crisis. The class of 2020 deserves to be honored. You deserve to celebrate this passage of adulthood, and we are hopeful you will have that chance. Be assured, we are ready. Your graduation regalia is packaged and labeled with your name on it, ready for a celebration. With or without a graduation, you deserve to announce your accomplishment. To have pictures taken in your cap and gown, your tassel hanging from your mirror, to send announcements to your friends and relatives. I want that for you. I want your success in education to be recognized. We will continue to monitor your schools decisions for this spring, summer, and possibly beyond, developing solutions to deliver your announcements and regalia during these restricted times.
