We seek to create a place to meet and exchange views, a place that showcases voices and perspectives from around the world. With the global health crisis, climate change, melting glaciers, increases in zoonotic diseases, serial species extinctions, forests in danger, and threats to food security, our planet is clearly not doing well. Yet we believe... that these situations are not inevitable. Is this a global crisis? Then our analysis and quest for solutions must have a global scope. ID4D is created and funded by Agence Franaise de Développement to provide a media outlet for all those involved in the global quest for a more sustainable world, with greater respect for the environment and living things, to promote the development of humanity. Our editor-in-chief is Thomas Hofnung. We publish texts written by journalists and contributors (academics, researchers, experts, those working in the field) who have significant legitimacy on the given topic. The views expressed in these texts are solely those of the authors, not of their institutions. Our content is published under a Creative Commons license and can be reproduced according to very specific conditions, which are explained in our Guide.
