We've successfully completed the third project for our client Nordex UK who develops and manufactures wind turbines. Nordex UK is one of the major players in Scotland's renewable energy sector and we were tasked with designing, developing and supplying bespoke guard kits for 22 wind turbines at the company's Eyemouth-based wind farm. The bespoke gu... ard kits are retro-fitted to Nordex's wind turbines to help improve the health and safety environment inside the nacelle (the cell located at the top of turbines which houses the key mechanical parts). As well as the key health and safety aspect, the client required the guard kits to be lightweight, robust and easy to fit, which we accomplished. Once the technical evaluations were conducted for this project, we established a practical solution to the design challenge. We modelled every product detail in SolidWorks, manufactured the parts, assembled and tested them ready for installation and oversaw the delivery. We also provided full instructions, enabling our client to use their own service technicians to fit out the complete wind farm quickly and cost-effectively.
