Human Engineering

Human Engineering was established by Chas Barclay in May 2000, following the seminars "Scientific Back Training" and "Scientific Abdominal Training" with Paul Chek in Auckland, New Zealand. It was a name used by Paul Chek in San Diego (USA) before he established Paul Chek Seminars and later The CHEK Institute. Paul suggested the new name for Chas's... business, as it better reflected the direction he was about to go in and the type of clients he was about to assist. Human Engineering relocated to Sydney in September 1999, opening as a Corrective Exercise and Personal Training Studio on Sydney's Lower North Shore in June 2000. The Crows Nest Studio is complete with Evaluation area, change cubicles and a fully functional exercise gym consisting of "Paul Chek's Triple Cable X", power cage, Olympic bars, dumbbells, Swiss balls, medicine balls, BOSU, BodyBlades, rebounder, Total Gym, lat pulldown and numerous Fitter stability tools, etc. Our clients and patients range from busy corporate executives, business owners, new mums, medical and allied health professionals to the teenagers and retirees. They come from the local north shore suburbs, northern beaches, eastern suburbs, Sydney CBD, Sydney's inner west to those on the Central Coast, Newcastle and Blue Mountains. Working with other allied health professionals, we have been able to expand our range of services over the years and with that, assist more clients and patients in getting out of pain, back to work, improving their health, fitness and sporting goals, and generally enjoying a better quality of life.
