At HPS we are dedicated to building that foundation. Students will be encouraged to evaluate their own endeavors and continually strive to improve. A positive self-image must be nurtured and maintained for each student. Each person must feel worthwhile and see the contributions he or she can make with other people to build a better world. At HPS we will reinforce the importance of personal well-being and appreciate the contributions of family and others. The values, rights and responsibilities of citizenship (both personal and community) will be a priority. We will also encourage an active, healthy lifestyle. A standard of acceptable moral and ethical behavior will be developed that reflects community standards and supports a positive climate for learning. We will emphasize an atmosphere of respect, responsibility, fairness, honesty, caring, loyalty and commitment. The staff at HPS, both professional and support, dedicate themselves to develop and preserve an acceptable and effective school climate that demands the best of each individual and is conducive to learning. The academic foundation of our school is the development of communication skills, computation skills, problem solving skills, decision-making skills, knowledge of the natural and social world around us, and the ability to process information.
