The Homeland Security Advisory Council ?(HSAC) was created in order to help coordinate the private sector's community efforts with those of all ??stakeholders, including public safety agencies throughout the Los Angeles Region. The Homeland Security Council serves to integrate government first responders with private sector leaders. HSAC works to ensure that should a disaster occur, first responders will be able to quickly and effectively identify and use the private sector resources and expertise available to them. ?Why We Exist: ?The population of Los Angeles region has grown to over 10 Million. In the event of a major man made or natural disaster, the needs of the community will exceed the resource and support capabilities of the government. The collaborative support of the business and community stakeholders is required to address this gap. cubes.png ??Our goal is to facilitate and collaborate with the public and private sectors and get their participation to minimize impact and maximize response, relief and resiliency in the community. Help with what the population needs Our Purpose / What we do: Certain events, such as, an earthquake, major fire or a man-made can occur at any time and any place. While we may not always be able to prevent these occurrences, these events will affect everyone in the community. In large disasters, community organization and individual citizens cannot rely solely on public safety agencies for help. The must have both information and resources to enable them to effectively act independent of government. Public and Private partnership will serve the citizens of Los Angeles in their time of need.
