About Houston Studio Glass
Dick Moiel and Kathy Poeppel's interest in glass began with collecting. The retired physician and his PA/RN wife enrolled in their first Glassblowing class in Junction, Texas in the summer of 1994. With the invaluable help and guidance of their first instructorBob Mosier, they built a basic hot shop and in March of 1995 were melting glass! During the climate friendly months (October through April), the couple blows decorative and functional objects. The summer months are devoted to maintenance, taking classes, kiln casting and cold working projects.
